Coalville Foodbank are seeking to appoint a Foodbank Manager to join our team at New Life Church, Coalville.

We seek to alleviate poverty in the Coalville area, by providing help through issuing a three-day emergency food parcel to those who are referred, Coalville Foodbank is part of the network of Trussell Trust Foodbanks.

Coalville Foodbank is governed by New Life Church Coalville and is an outworking of their faith and charitable aims to serve those in need and advance the Christian faith. The Charity works closely with other local churches and people in the community including businesses, supermarkets, and the public, who offer support with food donations, financial donations and volunteering time. It also works in collaboration with other charities and organisations, including a wide range of agencies that refer people to the Foodbank via a voucher system.

New Life Church also runs Hope67 Community Money Advice which offers support with debt and financial issues to address the underlying cause of the need for a food parcel.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Responsible to: The trustees of New Life Church Coalville

Responsible for: Management and Coordination of Coalville Foodbank

Salary: £24,000 (£32,140 pro-rata)

part-time: 28 hours

Temporary: 1 Year contract initially – 2nd year subject to funding.

 

Overall responsibility of the job:

The role of the Foodbank Manager on behalf of New Life Church, Coalville is to oversee the operation of Coalville Foodbank, with concern for its strategic development, operational efficiency, and standards in accordance with The Trussell Trust franchise model. Working in coordination with the Trustees, guiding the further development of the Foodbank including its resources, reputation partnerships, campaign for change at a political level, volunteers, and ongoing Christian presence. The Foodbank Manager is responsible to the Trustees of New Life Church, reporting directly to the Chair of Trustees.

Trussell Trust and New Life Church Coalville are founded upon Christian principles.  We see this role as a service to both effectively demonstrate and sensitively offer the good news of Jesus Christ.  Therefore, as employee of New Life Church there is an Occupational Requirement in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 that the post-holder to be a practising Christian by this, we mean a follower of Jesus who is listening to Jesus and with His help, living a holy life according to the New Testament Bible guidelines.
